Super Bowl LV Odds Pick Favorites & Dark Horses

2021 Super Bowl LV

  • When: Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021
  • Where: Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, FL

2021 Super Bowl LV Favorites Odds

  • Kansas City Chiefs +600
  • Baltimore Ravens +650
  • San Francisco 49ers +850
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers +850
  • New Orleans Saints +1000
  • New England Patriots +1200
  • Dallas Cowboys +1400
  • Seattle Seahawks +1750

We’re defining a Super Bowl favorite as any team that offers odds less than +2000. That’s why even though the Seahawks are at +1750, they make the list.

The key to determine the optimal Super Bowl bet on a favorite is to categorize even further. Think about the favorites pool as two separate designations.

Any team at +1000 or less is a strong favorite based on odds. Any team at +1000 or higher in the pool is an overlay favorite based on odds.

Then, you decide which team is best to back among the strong favorites or the overlay favorites.

Top Strong Favorite Play – Kansas City Chiefs

The Baltimore Ravens are a good squad, no doubt. But their brand of football didn’t work in the playoffs last season. Why would it work this season?

The Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl because of two words and one name, Patrick Mahomes. Patrick is the best player in the NFL. He won’t take a backward step after his first Super Bowl.

The other teams have flaws. The 49ers may have missed their chance. We don’t really know how good Tampa Bay will be. New Orleans had their best shot a couple of seasons ago.

Top Overlay Favorite Play – Seattle Seahawks

If the Hawks keep their +1750 odds, we’ve got to consider a wager, right? The offense should be better with Greg Olsen at tight-end. The defense will be better with Jamal Adams at strong safety.

What’s wrong with the Patriots and Cowboys? Dont’a Hightower and Patrick Chung are sitting out the season. That does not bode well for the Pats’ defense.

Dallas is a good team, but DeMarcus Lawrence, their best defensive player, may also sit out. And, the NFC is deep. San Francisco, Minnesota, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Philadelphia, take your pick.

2021 Super Bowl LV Dark Horse Odds

  • Philadelphia Eagles +2000
  • Indianapolis Colts +2000
  • Pittsburgh Steelers +2200
  • Green Bay Packers +2500
  • Cleveland Browns +3000
  • Minnesota Vikings +2800
  • Tennessee Titans +3000
  • Buffalo Bills +2200

We’re defining a dark horse as any team offering odds of +2000 to +3000. We mustn’t break this pool up. We should consider not backing the Eagles or Colts, though.

Both are good football teams, but there are questions for both. Check out a couple of squads that you should consider backing in Super Bowl futures.

Pittsburgh Steelers +2200 – Mike Tomlin almost got this squad to the playoffs last season with a revolving door quarterback situation. Now that Big Ben is healthy, the Steelers could rock it.

Tennessee Titans +3000 – The Titans made it to the AFC Championship last season. The offense is good. Derrick Henry is impossible to stop. The defense will be better because they signed Vic Beasley Jr., a terrific pass rusher.

If you’re looking to play a dark horse, consider the Steelers or Titans. A couple of other dark horse teams are the Buffalo bills and Minnesota Vikings.
