The PGA Tour returns to the Lone Star State for a tune-up before next week’s 2022 PGA Championship at Sothern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, OK. The AT&T Byron Nelson Classic takes place at TPC Craig Ranch outside of Dallas and will feature some of the world’s best golfers looking to round into form before the second major of the season.

K.H. Lee is the defending champion, firing a tournament-record 25-under last season. Lee bested Sam Burns by three strokes to capture his first PGA Tour victory and returns to defend his title.

The winner of the tournament earns 500 FedEx Cup points along with $1.638 million of a $9.1 million purse. It’s time to take a closer look at our Golf Betting analysis so you can get all set to bet against the PGA Tour Odds.

Golf Betting Preview for the 2022 PGA Tour AT&T Byron Nelson Classic

TPC Craig Ranch

The tournament moved to the golf course for the first time last year and returns in 2022. TPC Craig Ranch is slated to host the event for the next four years after moving from Trinity Forest Golf Club in 2019. The tournament was canceled due to COVID-19 in 2020.

TPC Craig Ranch plays as a par-72 and runs 7,468 yards in length. The private golf cluved was designed by major winner Tom Weiskopf and opened its doors in 2004. The course features Zoysia fairways, and bentgrass greens and Rowlett Creek crosses through the property fourteen times.

Weather conditions are prime for another tournament with record-low numbers, so players who won’t a shot at the title will need to shoot in the 60s all four rounds. Expect the winning total to again be over 20-under.

AT&T Byron Nelson Field

Seven of the top-15 players in the world are set to tee it up this week, led by world no. 1 and current FedEx Cup leader Scottie Scheffler. Joining Scheffler is Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, Sam Burns, Dustin Johnson, Xander Shauffele, and Hedeki Matsuyama.

Speith returns to competition in his native state after his RBC Heritage victory following the Masters. The 28-year-old has won twice in the state of Texas but never this event.

First-time participants include Bubba Watson, Tommy Fleetwood, and Francesco Molinari. Justin Leonard steps out of the broadcast booth for his first PGA Tour start since 2017.

AT&T Byron Nelson Betting Odds

The past two tournament produced winners that were at or near the top of the betting favorites heading into the tournament. With a loaded field at the top, expect one of the top contenders to come away with the title this week.

Scheffler (+700) is the pre-tournament favorite. The University of Texas product is aiming to win his fifth tournament in a four-month span and build momentum heading into the PGA Championship.

Right behind Scheffler is Thomas (+900). J.T. has been one of the most consistent golfers this season without a victory, cashing in on all eleven starts with six top-10 finishes.

Rouding out the top-5 favorites include Will Zalatoris (+1400), Dustin Johnson (+1800), and Shauffele (+1800). Zalatoris is still searching for his first PGA Tour victory. Don’t be surprised if the winner comes from one of the top five favorites.
