NASCAR 2021 Go Bowling at The Glen Betting Odds & Analysis

There are times during the course of the long NASCAR Cup Series season when you look at an upcoming race and see a driver that is about as close to a lock as it gets. We might potentially have that this weekend at the Go Bowling at The Glen race this coming Sunday. Watkins Glen is a road course, which means that you automatically have some favorites that immediately spring to mind when thinking about placing your wagers. Surprises can happen, though, as we all know, and while there is one definite favorite sitting above them all, races tend to not go the way we all think they will. Let’s take a look at the current favorites for this coming Sunday so you can get ready to bet against their NASCAR odds.

NASCAR Cup Series Betting: Go Bowling at The Glen Race Preview

Chase Elliott +650

You could look at the fact that the defending Cup Series champion has just 2 wins on the season and suggest that he is having an off year. This, though, is not really the case, as Elliott is sitting 5th in the NASCAR Cup Series driver standings and looking like one of the drivers in with a real shot at winning it all this season. Elliott has been in the top 5 on no less than 9 occasions in 2021, so it’s not as though he hasn’t been in with a shot at picking up more than the 2 wins he currently has. He might well add to that total this weekend, though, as he traditionally does well on road courses. He has won in each of the last 2 races at Watkins Glen, so definitely a favorite here.

Kyle Larson +260

No one was really sure what to expect from Larson after he sat out the majority of 2020 while serving a suspension. While he was unable to race under the NASCAR banner, Larson did end up behind the wheel racing at some road events, which should help him here. Not that he needs a ton of help this season, as he already has 4 wins, the best of any driver in the Cup Series. In 6 career races at Watkins Glen, Larson has been in the top 10 3 times. Not an entirely convincing record, but given his current form, he needs to be a consideration.

Martin Truex Jr. +900

Everyone seems to be looking at Elliott as a surefire winner this weekend, which, given his record at The Glen, is not a crazy idea. There are a handful of drivers who could make his path to the checkered flag a good deal more difficult, though, and you would have to say that Truex Jr. is at the top of that list. He is sitting second in the driver standings and has 3 wins, but it is his record at Watkins Glen that needs to be taken into account. He won there in 2017 and followed that up with back-to-back 2nd place finishes.

Kyle Busch +800

2021 has been a real return to form for Busch, who has a bit of an off season, at least by his standards, last year. He is currently sitting in 3rd in the driver standing and has a pair of wins already under his belt. He has been getting better as the season progresses and may very well be peaking at just the right time. Over the years, Busch has picked up 2 wins at Watkins Glen, but he has also been very consistent there, with his average finish being 9th through 15 races on that track.
