PGA Tour Early 2022 Masters Betting Favorites for the Upcoming Tournament

THE PLAYERS Championship is upon us, which means we are in the full swing of the PGA Tour schedule and a month away from the first major title of the season, The Masters. One of the four golf majors, The Masters is a year-round betting event with changing odds throughout the year.

Without further ado, let’s dive into the early The Masters Betting favorites and briefly touch on a few players further down on the list that might be a good value play at their current rate.

Early 2022 Masters Betting Odds Update | March 10th Edition

Jon Rahm +750

Rahm is the clear-cut pre-tournament favorite and has maintained that spot for most of the year. The no. 1 player in the world is looking for his first green jacket to go along with his 2021 U.S. Open title.

Heading into THE PLAYERS, the 27-year old has six top-25 finishes in seven starts this season. Rahm has gone 4th, T9, T7, T5 over his last four starts at Augusta.

Jordan Spieth +1000

Spieth is one of those players that has risen up the board as the year has progressed leading up to the April showcase. Last summer, the 2015 Masters champion returned to the winner’s circle with a victory at the Valero Texas Open and already has a trio of top-25 finishes this year.

Last year, Spieth nearly slipped on the green jacket but settled for his fifth top-3 finish at Augusta National. The three-time major champion’s solo 2nd at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am earlier this year tells us Spieth is right there.

Dustin Johnson +1100

Johnson won his second major championship in the fall at The Masters in 2020. Since D.J. hasn’t made a lot of noise but is still viable play at Augusta given his history at the course.

The 9th ranked golfer in the world missed the cut trying to defend his title in 2021 but had a T2, T10, and T4 before his victory. Johnson has been quiet this year, playing in only three events leading into THE PLAYERS with his best finish, a T25 at the Farmers.

Collin Morikawa +1200

The 25-year old already has a pair of major championships under his belt and hasn’t let his foot off the gas. Morikawa’s already captured the DP World Tour Championship in 2021 and hasn’t been worse than T7 in four starts this season on the PGA.

With just two trips to Augusta National under his belt, Morikawa’s best finish came last year when he cracked the top-20 for a T18 finish. Morikawa has all the tools to win at Augusta, and he’s one of the best bets on the board.

Justin Thomas +1200

Thomas has 14 career PGA Tour victories, including one major title as the defending champion at THE PLAYERS. The 28-year old ranks 7th in the world and already has four top-10 finishes in six starts.

J.T.’s best finish at Augusta National was a fourth-place finish in 2020. Thomas hasn’t finished outside the top-25 at The Masters since 2017.

Hideki Matsuyama +2500

The defending champion is currently a dark horse play at his odds. Matsuyama is currently second in the FedEx Cup rankings and already has a pair of victories (ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP and Sony Open) this season.

Scottie Scheffler +3500

No one is hotter in the game of golf right now than Scottie. The 25-year old has a pair of wins over his last three starts, springing him up the FedEx Cup rankings to the top spot.
