Sure Winning MLB Bets for the Weekend Action

New York Yankees at Tampa Bay Rays

  • Saturday, May 28

A couple of former Cy Young winners head to the mound when AL East rivals NYY and Tampa throw down. The Yankees send Gerrit Cole. The Rays counter with Corey Kluber.

Tampa bats .289 versus Cole. The Yankees blast Kluber with a .345 average. Because this is a road game, the Yankees may offer overlay odds. Consider backing NYY on the run line.

MLB Pick: New York Yankees

Toronto Blue Jays at Los Angeles Angels

  • Saturday, May 28

Joe Maddon is some kind of managing genius. The Angels have a 27-19 record heading into the weekend. How amazing is that?

In any case, Maddon starts former reliever Michael Lorenzen on Saturday. Lorenzen has a 3.05 ERA. More importantly, LAA has won 6-of-8 games this season where Lorenzen has either started or made an appearance. The Angels take this.

MLB Pick: Los Angeles Angels

Milwaukee Brewers at St. Louis Cardinals

  • Sunday, May 29

Brewers’ ace Corbin Burnes finally has his best pitches working. Burnes had struggled early. But since mid-May, he’s dominated.

The Brewers are 3-0 in Burnes last three starts. Corbin’s ERA has plummeted to 2.18. His WHIP is even better at .87. The Cards bat .239 versus Burnes. He should have no trouble handling St. Louis on Sunday.

MLB Pick: Milwaukee Brewers

Chicago Cubs at Chicago White Sox

  • Sunday, May 29

In three starts, Cubs’ pitcher Wade Miley has a 3.38 ERA. The ERA is much better in the last couple of starts, because Wade produced a 9.00 ERA versus the Padres in his first start.

When it comes to bat vs. pitch, White Sox starter Dylan Cease may have the upper hand. Cubs’ batters have seen Cease just 44 times. The White Sox win tis interleague contest.

MLB Pick: Chicago White Sox

San Francisco Giants at Philadelphia Phillies

  • Monday, May 30

San Francisco starter Logan Webb is 5-1 with a 3.54 ERA. His WHIP is on the high side at 1.26. But nobody can deny the G-Men step it up at the plate for Webb.

Philadelphia counters the Giants’ starter with Ranger Suarez. In his last couple of starts, Suarez has not thrown well.

The Dodgers beat the Phillies 4-1 and Atlanta dusted the home team in this 8-4. Consider backing the Giants on the run line.

MLB Pick: San Francisco Giants

Washington Nationals at New York Mets

  • Monday, May 30

Nationals’ starter Erick Fedde is 3-3 with a 3.55 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP. Fedde has faced Mets’ batters 49 times. The Mets have 16 hits off Fedde.

The Mets counter with Chris Bassitt. When Bassitt throws, the Mets play well. NYM is 6-2 SU in Bassitt’s eight starts. Bassitt is 4-2 on the season. His ERA isn’t as great as Fedde’s, 3.91, but it’s good enough. The Mets take this.

MLB Pick: New York Mets
